Maple Syrup Saturday at New Canaan Nature Center

You won't want to miss out on this fun family day! Join the New Canaan Nature Center for Tree tapping demonstrations, and a real "boil down" using sap from their resident Nature Center maple trees on Saturday, March 21st at midday.

Join Nature Center staff by the Sugar Shack as they celebrate the bounty from this year’s Syrup Season!

You can put your strength to the test with the 2nd Annual Family Lumberjack Challenge! Try your hand at wood heaving (how far can you throw a log of firewood?), before tackling the firewood stacking competition. There is also the entire log rolling obstacle course!

Last but by no means least - they will be serving up flapjacks, syrup and an array of tasty toppings (fruit, chocolate chips etc.) at the delicious Pancake Brunch. You can test your maple syrup skills and take the 'Real Vs. Fake' taste test. A large campfire will be lit for you to share tall tales of winter’s adventures, say a final goodbye to the snow (and roast a marshmallow or two!)

In fine tradition there will be an assortment of delicious maple treats, maple-themed crafts and bottles of NCNC Maple Syrup for sale in the Nature Shop!

Dress warmly, this event is primarily outdoors - although brunch will be served indoors. Activities will run throughout the day.

Members: $8/person, Non-Members: $12/person and Children Under 2: FREE
