Low Water Pressure in Downtown Ridgefield Result of Water Main Break

Residents in the downtown areas of Ridgefield have reported low water pressure and brown water today.

We spoke with Aquarion Water about the issue. "We did receive a call at 9:28 am today and we are working on the issue," Aquarion Water employee said.

According to Aquarion, a contractor working on a private property in Ridgefield hit am 8 inch main. "They [the contractor] didn't call us," Aquarion said. When residents began to experience low water pressure and water discoloration, they began calling Aquarion.

The water pressure should be restored soon (if it has been already). In regard to the discoloration, "Run cold water on high pressure for 10 to 15 minutes and it will clear up," said Aquarion.

If you continue to experience issues, call Aquarion at 203-445-7310
