Enlightened by Lady Liberty ~ Statue of Liberty History Talk
Recognized as a universal symbol of hope, freedom and democracy, the Statue of Liberty stands watch in the New York Harbor. History of this colossal copper figure will be discussed by Arthur Gottlieb, LCSW, on Monday, July 27, 12:15 PM, at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center, 642 Danbury Road, Ridgefield, CT.
Come join us for a photographic journey of one of America’s most iconic monuments, from the ancient origins of its design to her post on Liberty Island. America’s romance with Lady Liberty started as a gift from France, which was designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel, and was presented to the U.S. in the late 1800’s. She has stood the test of time as millions of immigrants arrived in America and it has since become one of the world’s most recognizable landmark. Her light shines over the gateway of our nation as a beacon of hope, endurance, equality, and promise.
