A panel of professionals will discuss a variety of topics that concern today’s families, from the emotional and financial costs of college preparation to divorce, downsizing and tax planning. “Economics and the Modern Family: Finding Domestic & Financial Stability” is a free event co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Brown Bag Network and Ridgefield Library. The first seminar of the two-part series will be held on Thursday, September 17, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Ridgefield Library, in the Main Program Room.
Part one of the series will feature “A Home of Your Own: Rent vs. Buy,” presented by Patti Ballard of Neumann Real Estate and Grace Tripp of RMS Mortgage. Barbara Bangser, a ten-year veteran of the college application process, will also talk about “Maintaining your Sanity & Bank Account During the College Application Process.”
“Today’s families are faced with a variety of complicated financial and emotional issues,” said Barbara McMahon, Senior Financial Advisor, Assistant Vice President, PIA Portfolio Advisor, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, and founder of the Brown Bag Network. “Our goal is to enlighten their burden through education and information.”
This is the third collaborative event from The Ridgefield Brown Bag Network and Ridgefield Library. Previous seminars were “Flying Solo,” and “Later Life.” The Ridgefield Brown Bag Network is a networking group of professional women who get together monthly for an informal and informational lunch meeting. Its members offer a diversity of experience from a wide range of professions and career paths.
