USA Swimming announced yesterday that Ridgefield Aquatic Club (RAC) is the recipient of Bronze Medal Status in the USA Swimming Club Excellence Program.
USA Swimming recognizes clubs for their commitment to performance excellence. According to USA Swimming, RAC was commended because they:
-Promote the development of strong, well-rounded age group and senior swimming programs that produce elite 18 & under athletes:
-Provide recognition and resources to motive and assist member clubs to strive for the highest ideals of athlete performance.
"This honor for RAC reflects the collective hard work of our athletes and our coaches, along with the tremendous support of our families and our Volunteer Club Leadership." Said Jill Bornstein, RAC's President.
USA swimming has almost 3,000 year round swim clubs. 200 are recognized annually through the club recognition program, 20 Gold, 80 Silver, 100 Bronze. RAC was 11 spots away from Silver recognition.
