Natalie Cole was Unforgettable at The Ridgefield Playhouse & has died at 65

"Unforgettable" singer and songwriter Natalie Cole,  who performed at The Ridgefield Playhouse in October of 2014 (during a nor'easter storm), has died at 65. According to multiple sources including NBC News and TMZ, Cole , who had battles with substance abuse, had been quite ill recently and was forced to cancel planned tour stops.

South Yonkers HamletHub editor Ardina Seward, reviewed the Playhouse concert saying, "Neither nor'easter or the recovery from a cold could stop the Natalie Cole concert at the Ridgefield Playhouse.  A full capacity crowd rocked, swayed and cheered to the tunes of the beautiful balladeer  It didn't take more than a few minutes for Cole to spring from the doldrums to a class act of perfect pitch and warmth."

The daughter of legendary crooner Nat King Cole ("Mona Lisa," "The Christmas Song," "Unforgettable"), Natalie Cole won the first of her nine career Grammy Awards as Best New Artist of 1975, the year she debuted with the hit “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)."
