Climbing Your Family Tree With Rabbi Rachel Bearman

How has your family’s past shaped your present reality?  How does your life reflect or deviate from the lives of the generations that came before you?  How can the people and stories on your family tree help you to better understand yourself?  These are the questions that motivate us to explore our families’ histories.

On Sunday, February 7th at 4:00 pm, at Temple B’nai Chaim, Rabbi Rachel Bearman will lead a class on the work and importance of becoming a family historian.  Drawing from her experience of researching her own family’s history for close to six years, she will share practical tips and tricks for using both well known and more obscure family history resources.  Whether you're an experienced family historian or are simply interested in the subject, you'll find this presentation to be both practical and fun.

“Family history is all about honoring the stories and adventures, the trials and triumphs, the journeys and the lives of men and women who came before us,” says Rabbi Bearman. “It’s about zooming out and seeing oneself in the larger context of family relationships.”

This program is open to the whole community, and we hope that you'll bring any and all interested friends! Check out the event on Facebook.  A special video invitation is available here: http://tinyurl.com/tbcgenealogy.
