Celebrated pastor, author and sociologist Dr. Tony Campolo will lead workshops on Sat., Oct. 29 – and also the Sunday service on Oct. 30 – at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church.
Saturday’s workshops – themed “Accessible God, Accessible Church” – and Sunday’s worship are open and free to all. Goodwill offerings will be taken.
“Over his many years of Christian service, Tony has boldly challenged millions of people all over the world to respond to God’s boundless love by combining personal discipleship, evangelism and social justice,” said the Rev. Dr. Bill Pfohl, Jesse Lee’s senior pastor. “We invite you to join us and to invite others to experience and be inspired by Tony’s powerful message of hope.”
Topics on Saturday are: morning, “Witnessing to Christ in the World Today: Character and Inclusivity”; and, afternoon, “Removing Obstacles and Opening the Way to Life and Truth.”
Doors open Saturday at 9:30 a.m., with praise music beginning at 10 a.m. The event runs until 4:30 p.m.
On Sun., Oct. 30, Jesse Lee will have only one service – at 10 a.m., led by Dr. Campolo – instead of the usual four.
