The Nutcracker TODAY at The Ridgefield Playhouse is ON!

The Nutcracker, performed by Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance is ON today at The Ridgefield Playhouse!

*Please note: there is also "Nuts About the Nutcracker", performed by The Enchanted Garden. That performance is cancelled today.

The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance presents The Nutcracker at The Ridgefield Playhouse today, Saturday, December 17 at 2 pm and 6pm, and Sunday, December 18 at 11am and 2pm. The classic holiday performance is directed by Ballet Master Alexander Glaz. Purchase tickets here.

“We've expanded the traditional four performance to five this year due to the event selling out in past years,” says Jane Turner, Conservatory of Dance board member.

Glaz says, "It is a joy to carry on one of Ridgefield's finest holiday traditions with such talented and enthusiastic students! This year, we have a special new excitement in store for our audiences. There will be a total of five performances with new roles, costumes, and choreography for our youngest Nutcracker participants. From year to year, we love sharing this holiday treasure with the Ridgefield community.”

Goldens Bridge resident, Molly Flynn dazzles as Clara. This talented actress and dancer takes you on an exciting journey as she dances on pointe. Alongside Clara as Fritz is Ethan Beaulac of Ridgefield.

Guest artists are RCD alum Isaac Lerner as Sugar Plum Fairy's Cavalier and Edgar Cortes as Drosselmeyer. Dancing the roles of Drosselmeyer's Nephew and Nutcracker Prince is Jamie Ellin of South Salem.

New this year are the youngest Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance members performing as Icicles.

Almost 100 students and guest artists will perform, including RCD pre-professional students from Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, Weston, Katonah, South Salem, Cross River, Waccabuc, Brewster and Ossining NY.

Look for a cameo appearance by a host of Ridgefield residents who join artistic director Amy Piantaggini as festive party guests in Act I". They include: Angelique Joseph, Steven Waldinger, Gary Mandel, Kathryn Malwitz and Jay Steele.

"This is the largest cast we have seen in years- maybe ever,” says Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance Artistic Director, Amy Piantaggini.
