Give the young musical theater lovers on your list the gift of Broadway, right here in Ridgefield with tickets to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s smash- hit Broadway musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (February 24th at 2pm & 8pm and February 25th at 2pm), directed by Daniel C. Levine. As an experienced actor and director, Levine combines an all-star Broadway cast and band with local actors and singers, including a large children’s ensemble to create a unique and captivating concert production of this classic show. The show is a retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph and his eleven brothers and the coat of many colors from the book of Genesis.  This wonderful family musical is filled with many unforgettable songs including “Those Canaan Days,” “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door To me.”

For the little readers on your list, the Judy Blume staple - Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great - comes to life on The Playhouse stage January 27th at 11am & 2pm. This lively and poignant musical, based on Blume’s popular novel, introduces the audience to Sheila Tubman, otherwise known as Sheila the Great. Ten-year-old Sheila thinks being a kid is kind of a pain. Having an older sister is really a pain. Being afraid of everything is painful. Through this amazing musical we see young Sheila come of age and discover the person within.

Book lovers and mischief lovers will also enjoy Huck & Tom and the Mighty Mississippi (April 21st at 11am and 2pm). This foot-stompin’ musical is based on the novels of Mark Twain about the greatest young adventurers in American literature. Young Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer will bring all their shenanigans to the stage along with the rest of the cast of Jim, Becky, Thatcher, Aunt Polly and the rest of the residents of Hannibal, MO. Join Huckleberry and Finn as they explore the majestic river that defined their lives, tested their souls, and carried their spirit into the heart of America.

Got a prankster on your list? Blow their young minds with tickets to a couple of world-class magic shows.  Witness cutting-edge illusionists perform sleight-of-hand, perplexing interactive mind magic, hilarious comedy, dangerous escapes and large-scale illusions at the Masters of Illusion show February 13th at 7pm. Or, marvel at The Magic of Bill Blagg (May 20th at 1pm & 4:30pm). Blagg’s incredible high-energy, grand-scale magic and illusions will have your kids rubbing their eyes in disbelief. The show is filled with reality-twisting illusions combined with his trademark off-the-cuff personality that makes it a great family event. Magic has never been hotter! 

Kids of all ages will be amazed by the death-defying feats of The Acrobats of China featuring the New Shanghai Circus (March 18th at 4pm). This fast-paced show combines Chinese dancing with thrilling stunts that audience members of all ages will enjoy.  Acts include jugglers, comic knife throwers, acrobats, and a bicyclist who balances about ten of his fellow acrobats on his bike with him.
