Cramer & Anderson Partner Josh Weinshank of Ridgefield Wins a Fairfield County 40 Under 40 Award

Attorney Josh Weinshank of Ridgefield, leader of Cramer & Anderson’s Fairfield County Trust and Estate Planning and Administration Group, received a 40 Under 40 award from the Fairfield County Business Journal at a June 11 cocktail reception and awards ceremony held at LaKota Oaks in Norwalk.

FOX 61 meteorologist Matt Scott was the emcee of the 15th annual awards presentation, and the keynote speaker was Scott Johnson, president of the Mack Media Group of Brookfield and host of “The Mack Talks” podcast.

Attorney Weinshank was the only Ridgefield resident to win a 40 Under 40 award this year.

“It’s such an honor to be chosen as an industry leader in Fairfield County, where Cramer & Anderson is growing tremendously, especially with the opening in 2017 of our office in Ridgefield,” said Attorney Weinshank, whose primary practice areas are Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration, and Elder Law.

The youngest member of Cramer & Anderson’s Trust and Estate Planning team, Attorney Weinshank was chosen to guide the firm’s strategic growth in Fairfield County, in part by launching the firm’s sixth office, where he is the Resident Partner.

In 2017, the Connecticut Law Tribune named Attorney Weinshank a New Leader in the Law for his accomplishments, and in 2018 he was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Attorney Weinshank, who lives in Ridgefield with his wife, Steffani, and two young daughters, engages in community involvement locally and regionally with a focus on providing key leadership to entities with a mission of helping others and improving communities.

Several of his community involvement roles come under the umbrella of the Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN). This past winter, Attorney Weinshank was named the new Vice Chair of WCHN’s Legacy Society, which recognizes donors who include WCHN or its Hospitals in estate plans through wills, trusts, annuities or other charitable giving vehicles.

He was also recently named to the Patient Advisory Council, adding to a list of WCHN roles that includes membership on the Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital Foundation Associate Board of Directors.

“Supporting your local hospital is one of the most important endeavors to better our community,” Attorney Weinshank said in a hospital newsletter, noting how thriving hospitals build a strong sense of community, create employment opportunities, and make towns and cities in a hospital’s service area more appealing to individuals, families, and corporations.

In Ridgefield, Attorney Weinshank is a member of the Finance Committee of the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA), and has served on the Board of the Ridgefield Playhouse, as well as its Finance Committee.

In 2016 and 2017, Attorney Weinshank was a member, and also co-Chair, of the Planned Giving Committee formed by Ability Beyond, the pioneering Bethel-based organization that “helps thousands of people with physical and mental disabilities discover their abilities and become a part of their communities.”

Additionally, Attorney Weinshank is Managing Director of The Stevek Foundation, Inc., which assists financially needy skiers, and while he was in law school, Attorney Weinshank cycled across the country to raise money for Lea’s Foundation for Leukemia Research, Inc.
