HamletHub thanks Fairfield County Bank for making our Why Small Businesses Matter series possible!

Why Small Businesses MatterShop small, do big things for your community Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story! You're IT A2 Salon! Three questions with Amanda Kilcran, owner of A2 Salon. How many people do you employ? I currently employ 4 people. I have created a small business in the town I grew up in. All of my employees have lived in or worked in Ridgefield for over 10+ years. All of my employees are like family to me. From staff who have been with me since I opened my doors, to interns for senior internships, to young men and women in the RISE program. I like to keep it local and support anyone I can. Best selling product or service? Most people come to us for color, although we do just as many haircuts. We pride ourselves on our ability to transform, correct, and adjust any formulation - from root touch ups to highlights. We have mastered the art of formulation and application—always with the integrity of the hair in mind. We use both Wella and Moroccanoil products. Finish this sentence in regard to your business: I wish I could... I wish I could do more for the community. Our biggest and most rewarding fundraiser for the community is our annual Kids Cut-a-thon. My goal in the next few years is to figure out a way to get more local businesses to join in, build more awareness, and support the families we raise money for while bringing more business to my fellow small business owners.
