Ridgefield 14 Year Old Has Her Eye On The (US Open) Ball

National Public Radio (NPR) just published a story highlighting the ballpersons working at the 2019 US Open, currently underway in Queens, NY. Among the young tennis enthusiasts selected for this coveted position was Ridgefield's Moera Kamimura, who is on the JV Tennis Team at RHS. 

"Speed is really important," she says. "And if you can't run fast, you won't be able to be at net," she told NPR.

According to the US Open, more than 500 people attending tryouts in early June but only 150 positions were available and evaluators were searching for "the best of the best to run the sidelines of history this summer in New York."
