Metro North Region of Young Life has New Regional Director

Young Life has appointed former Ridgefield Young Life director, Tim Vickers, to be the first regional director in the newly created Metro North Region of Young Life. The Metro North Region includes all of Connecticut and Westchester County, New York. It includes 24 paid staff and 150 volunteers working with more than 10,000 middle school, high school and college students at more than 38 sites.

“It is a great honor and privilege for me to announce Tim Vickers as the new regional director for the newly formed Metro North Region,” said John Wagner, Young Life’s senior vice president of the Greater New York Division, “Tim is a tremendous leader, with a wealth of experience in leading people and teams.  The opportunity in Connecticut and Westchester is immense, and my sense is with Tim’s leadership and the team that is in already in place, [Young Life] will have to opportunity to impact the lives of a lot of teenagers.”

Mr. Vickers has worked with Young Life for fourteen years and has been based primarily in Fairfield County, Conn. for the last twelve years in various roles. He served for six years as the Area Director for Young Life in Ridgefield, Conn., three years as the metro director for Greater Danbury, and most recently was the associate regional director supervising Connecticut and Westchester County for Young Life’s Greater New York Division. He has launched several Young Life sites in Ohio, Connecticut and New York and serves on the Leadership Team for Young Life’s Greater New York Division and the Senior Leadership Team for Young Life internationally. He and his wife Lori and their children live in northern Fairfield County.

“I am humbled by this opportunity and excited about the work that Young Life is already doing in this region and the great potential for growth. I see us expanding on our base of success in Fairfield County and continuing to grow in and around communities like Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury and White Plains,” said Vickers, “We will continue to reach out to kids in the cities and in the suburbs, and will do even more to further develop our newest programs for kids with disabilities and for college students.”
