Ridgefield Police Officer Scruffy for Good Reason: Blake Family Offers Thanks!

If you've seen a Ridgefield Police officer about town recently (I ran into two of Ridgefield's finest at Genoa a few weeks ago) you may have noticed a bit of scruff (OK, more than a bit).

Members of the Department put down their razors during the month of November to bring awareness to childhood cancer and to support Ridgefielder Brooke Blake who is battling a rare form of pediatric brain cancer called DIPG.

Brooke is shown here with Ridgefield Police officers, including K-9 Loki.

No Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness.

Madeleine Blake, Brooke's mom, shared some words of gratitude on the Believe in Brooke Facebook page.

A heartfelt Thank You to the Ridgefield Police Department and the Ridgefield Police Benevolent Association for supporting Brooke with their incredible donation today to help with her treatments. Brooke was so happy to hang out with her new friends at the station including Loki, the K9 officer! These amazing officers skipped the razor all month long to participate in this fundraiser for Brooke. They looked great!  The shirts did too! Not only are they wonderful officers that keep us safe and secure, but they are kind and thoughtful people.  We are a blessed town.

Thank you with all our hearts!

Thank you to our amazing police officers who not only keep our residents safe but support our neighbors in need.
