Scotts Ridge Middle School Teachers Spend Friday Night Babysitting, Raise Over $4,000 for Brooke Blake!

Last night, Friday, February 7, Scotts Ridge Middle School staff held their Babysitting for Brooke fundraising event at SRMS and raised over $4000,00. to support Brooke Blake!

Under the leadership of teachers, Kim VanAllsburg, Sarah Farina, Leah Hayner, Emily Sherwill, Patricia Dowd, Autumn Hoey, 32 staff members volunteered to give 94 children an unforgettable evening of games, arts and crafts, music and pizza, while their parents enjoyed a night out, sans kids!

100% of the $30 per child babysitting cost were donated to the Believe in Brooke Corporation.

Brooke Blake is currently a sixth-grade student at Scotts Ridge Middle School. On December 31, 2015, Brooke was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called DIPG. The positivity and spirit of Brooke and her family have impacted all of our staff as well as the Ridgefield community.

This special night of fun and fundraising was sponsored by The Tutoring Club of Ridgefield with donations from Deborah Ann’s, Genoa Deli, Ridgefield Police Department, Posa, DJ Big Daddy.

Thank you to SRMS staff! What an incredible gesture of love, philanthropy and community!
