On Wednesday, March 18, the 2020 RVNAhealth Spelling Bee contenders will bring to Ridgefield Playhouse their quick wits, steely nerves … and of course, family and friends to cheer on their efforts. Who will walk away with the crown that evening is anybody’s guess. What are the rules?
Our Bee is modeled after the famous National Scripps Spelling Bee – with a few twists. One of our special rules of play is that contestants are allowed a “lifeline” in the audience to help them out with difficult words. See the full list of rules here.
How do you ensure that everyone follows the rules?
We have judges for that! This year, they are Theresa Santoro, RVNAhealth president & CEO; Geoffrey Morris, editor and publisher, TownVibe and the winner of the inaugural RVNAhealth Spelling Bee in 2012; and 2019 Spelling Bee champion, Basil Kolani of Ridgefield Academy.
