Pet Valu announced in a press release plans close all of its stores due to the severe impact from COVID-19.
Locations in Connecticut include Ridgefield, Bethel, Danbury Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Trumbull, Derby, Milford, and Southbury. Effective immediately, U.S. customers will no longer be able to place orders on the Pet Valu U.S. e-commerce site at www.petvalu.com/us/.
Pet Valu opened in Ridgefield's Copps Hill Common on April 17, 2013, taking over the large space that housed Blockbuster. As this photo shows, dog owners have come to know, love, and rely upon the store's $10.00 dog washing stations.
Not closed yet
The company states that all Pet Valu stores in the U.S. are currently open and ready to serve their devoted pet lover customers through the wind-down process. Customers in the U.S. can continue to use Pet Valu gift cards and loyalty rewards for purchases.
Pet Valu Canada, which is a separate company based in Markham, Ontario is not impacted by this wind down, according to the press release.
