Three Year Old Old Piano Prodigy from Ridgefield Invited to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Three-year-old from Ridgefield took to the piano during the pandemic and is now headed to Carnegie Hall!

Brigitte Xie, 3, is from Ridgefield, Connecticut. She started her formal piano studies in September 2020 and is currently studying with National Award-winning certified piano educator Ms. Felicia Feng Zhang (Greenwich, CT), who has earned numerous teaching awards and prizes throughout her 32-year experience of piano teaching and was proudly named a 2020 "Teacher of Distinction" by Royal Music Conservatory (RCM).

Brigitte showed a strong interest in music at one year of age. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Brigitte began taking piano lessons online. Eventually, the family drove Brigitte to Ms. Feng Zhang in Greenwich each week for her piano lesson.

After studying with Ms. Zhang and following her 5 Cores / 3EFM Music Theory, Brigitte's abilities to focus and follow instructions, as well as her hand/brain coordination, improved significantly. As a result, her piano skills progressed greatly! In three short months, Brigitte began to participate in different reputable piano competitions and has already won several prizes, including the First Place Prize by Elite International Music Competition, Special Judges Honor Medal by Young Maestro International Competition, and First Place Prize by American Protege International Music Talent Competition.

Brigitte has been invited to perform in the American Protege Winner Recital held at Carnegie Hall in November 2021. Brigitte is currently preparing to sit the Royal Conservatory of Music Piano Level 1 Assessment at the young age of 3.

Besides playing piano, Brigitte likes dancing, drawing, and art crafting with her mother. She also enjoys outdoor activities with her little friends. She is the only child in her family; her parents, Nicole Sun and Tao Xie, are both professional CPAs.
