The Ridgefield Historical Society has received grants from the Albert Wadsworth and Helen Clark Meserve Memorial Fund and from the Anne S. Richardson Fund, which will support two important aspects of the Society’s work.
The Meserve Fund grant will support online engagement and experience, which has proved to be especially important since the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic. The Ridgefield Historical Society is completing a website redesign to continue to expand its online outreach.
The Richardson Fund grant is the second part of funding for a two-year capital project to expand storage in the Scott House’s climate-controlled vault. New carriages were installed in the vault this year and new laptop computers and desks have been purchased for archival workstations. Archival materials for storing items in the collection are being purchased and put to use, with the project expected to be completed by June 30, 2022.
The Ridgefield Historical Society’s Scott House headquarters are at 4 Sunset Lane, open by appointment Tuesday-Thursday, 1-5 p.m. For more information, visit https://ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org or email or phone, 203-438-5821.
