The Prayer Wall at Main Street and King Lane (Jesse Lee Church) went back up today!
"Here's a snapshot of what is on the minds and hearts of people around town. The Prayer Wall will be up until Sept. 13 and is there for everyone in town to use and enjoy. Blessings to All!," says Heidi Yeranossian, Communications Manager at Jesse Lee.
Jesse Lee Church put up the Prayer Wall for the first time in May and invited people from Ridgefield and surrounding towns to post their prayers on the wall during that two-week period. The community response was enthusiastic! Nearly 200 prayers were posted and the buzz on social media made it clear that people enjoyed having a place where everyone in town was welcome to post their prayers.
Jesse Lee Church is happy to put the Prayer Wall back up to offer this support to the community as Ridgefield gets ready for a new school year, deals with persistent COVID challenges, marks the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, and experiences unrest beyond our borders.
Bonnie Kearns, one of the Jesse Lee leaders behind the Prayer Wall said, “We believe the Prayer Wall enables God’s love and light to shine through us with each request made for another. Praying for others as well as ourselves brings comfort and support when we need it most and also lets us share in each other’s joy when prayers of praise are lifted up.”
There are two ways for people to post prayers to the Prayer Wall. The top half of the wall is a giant chalkboard where people can publicly share their prayer requests. The base is a faux stone wall with places to insert private prayers. The Prayer Ministry at Jesse Lee will record and collect all prayer requests. Private prayers inserted in the wall will not be read by anyone but will remain folded and confidential. However, these and all other prayers submitted, will be prayed over at the end of the two-week period.
While this Prayer Wall resides on a corner of the Jesse Lee Church campus, it is truly something for everyone in and around town to participate in and enjoy. All are welcome!
