The Roar of the Crowd Returns to Tiger Hollow for Homecoming and 20th Anniversary Celebration
This Friday, November 5, 2021, the Tigers will have an all-new home-field advantage when they celebrate Homecoming, the 20th Anniversary of Tiger Hollow Stadium, and a brand new track and field turf field!
Jill Bornstein, CEO and President of Tiger Hollow Inc., the nonprofit arm of the facility said, “We are thrilled to celebrate twenty years of Tiger Hollow and all those who made it possible. The field and track completion had some delays but we are set to unveil the all-new track and turf on November 5 for the Homecoming game and Senior Night.”
Ridgefield High School will take on Trumbull under the Friday night lights with kick-off at 7:00 pm. All are invited and encouraged to attend this historical Homecoming and 20th Anniversary celebration.
At the end of the 1st quarter of the Homecoming game, spectators will be given the opportunity to take a look back at twenty years of their hometown turf. “We will show a video recognizing and celebrating 20 years of Tiger Hollow,” says Bornstein. The video will include clips from Tiger Hollow Stadium founders including Dave Landers and Larry Bossidy as well as Athletic Director Dane Street and Jill Bornstein.
A gift to the Town of Ridgefield by an impressive fundraising effort spearheaded by dedicated Ridgefield community leaders Dave Landers and Vinny Pannozzo, Tiger Hollow Stadium, Ridgefield’s athletic community hub, was built in 2001 and has stood the test of time and competition as the venue for thousands of games, practices, community events including the Fourth of July Fireworks, Father’s Day 5K races, plus, youth programs, and camps.
“After ten years there was a great deal of wear and tear on the field — just this year, Tiger Hollow I had 640 events, Tiger Hollow II had 490,” said Bornstein who added, “The replacement of the turf field and new track installation will give new life to the field for another ten years and the track for twenty.”
The roar of the crowd will make a triumphant return this Friday night. Tiger Hollow is poised for victory.
If you would like to be part of Tiger Hollow history, Bornstein says they are still accepting sponsors for the 20 Anniversary Homecoming celebration. You are also welcome to make an individual donation. Please contact Jill Bornstein at jbornstein1@comcast.net or make your donation online .
