On October 17th, State Representative Aimee Berger-Girvalo honored Nod Hill Brewery and Ridgefield High School senior, Alexia Anglade, with official citations from the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut.
Representative Berger-Girvalo honored Nod Hill Brewery as the first recipient of the Green Business award for its sustainable business practices. She also recognized environmental advocate, Alexia Anglade. Alexia created the award and corresponding website (www.greenawardct.com) working closely with community business leaders and the non-profits, Ridgefield Action Committee for the Environment (RACE) and the Norwalk Watershed River Association.
The presentation of the citations coincided with RACE’s electric vehicle show and a ceremony to present the first green business award to Nod Hill brewery. Dr. Ben Oko was the master of ceremonies. Alexia Anglade introduced the award and First Selectman, Rudy Marconi, presented the award. Representatives Berger-Girvalo was joined by State Senator, Will Haskell.
The electric vehicle show included dealers representing Audi, Volkswagen, Nissan, BMW, and Chevrolet. Tesla, Hyundai, Jeep, Toyota, Jaguar, and Ford EV owners were there as well to answer questions from event attendees.
The Green Business Award is based on a points system and is available at the Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels. Eligible businesses receive a decal designed by Alexia to display to publicize their eco business practices.
