Larry Bossidy was honored with the Christopher W. Martin Award on December 1, 2021 for his leadership in empowering young adults with tools and resources to build their resilience.
Bossidy and his family understand first-hand the imperative need to break down the barriers surrounding mental illness, strengthen connections, and empower those who need help to ask for it.
Founded by Pam and Phil Martin, Bossidy’s daughter and son-in-law, RADical Hope was started in honor of their son, Chris, who died by suicide in the fall of 2017 when he was a junior at Gonzaga University.
“Larry brought his passion for business excellence, his love for family and concern for young people to the foundation,” said Pam Martin, Co-Founder and President of RADical Hope.
RADical Hope Foundation is a nonprofit committed to improving the lives and futures of young adults by strengthening connections and building resilience. The movement is two-fold: educate all constituents of the college community the warning signs and implore them to take action. And, help to identify students who need help but are not able to ask for it.
According to the RADical Hope Foundation, the evening was full of hope and connection, including His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, who surprised guests with a blessing.
“We have a simple metric at RADical Hope, that is to say, how many schools we can get in and how many people we can touch. We probably touched 10,000 people this year, but we have an awesome goal of one million people. And if we can save one life, it’ll have been worth it, ”
said Larry Bossidy, Honorary Chairman of the Board.
