East Ridge Middle School seventh-grader Logan Hale received the devastating news last week that he had relapsed in his almost two-year fight against leukemia.
While Logan has a very difficult battle in front of him, on Sunday, the Ridgefield community got together to celebrate him on his twelfth birthday. The Ridgefield High School Football team and his youth coaches gave him a special helmet and shirt with his number, 52.
“My son smiled from ear to ear,” writes his mom Kristina Hale. ”Today at the hospital he was still talking about it. On such a tough day, he was distracted by the love and support from our town.”
Ridgefield Public Schools extends its very best wishes to Logan and his family in his battle against cancer.
