Last weekend, on the heels of Earth Day, members of the Ridgefield community came together for some "spring cleaning".
Barb Hartman, the Chair of Ridgefield's Rid Litter Days reports that the event was wildly successful, thanks to the efforts of local residents.
"I am delighted to report that almost 1500 pounds (3/4 of a ton) of trash was picked up last weekend. In addition, there were 30 large bags of recyclables. This is by far the biggest haul ever!" she says.
Hartman is thankful to all who adopted a street and picked up litter in their neighborhoods.
"The Town looks so much better and the environment is safer for us all. Don't forget you can pick up litter any time you see it. So let's keep the town looking great all year!" she says.
