HomeGoods in Ridgefield Gets Sign, Opening Slated for September 15!

HomeGoods Signage

Kohl's, permanently closed its doors in Ridgefield in January of 2022 after more than two decades at 125 Danbury Road. Almost immediately after shutting the doors, construction began to transform ⅓ of the space into HomeGoods.

The HomeGoods website indicates the Ridgefield location will open on September 15 at 8am.

HomeGoods will occupy 25,000 sq ft of the space… but what about the remaining space?

Jack deVilliers, Senior VP at Regency Centers said, “We are working with a couple of different groups to take the balance [of the space]. We can’t announce anything yet until they sign [a lease],” he said.

HomeGoods website reads, “At HomeGoods Ridgefield, you’ll find a unique selection of home décor from around the world, all at amazing prices. HomeGoods offers an ever-changing mix of merchandise for every room in the home, including: furniture, rugs, lighting, wall art, decorative pillows and accessories, bedding, bath, storage, pet, kids’ décor and toys, gifts, gourmet food, dining, cookware, entertaining essentials, outdoor, seasonal décor and so much more.”

“We are excited about HomeGoods opening up we feel it will create momentum. We are longterm owners so we want to make sure it’s the right tenant not just for Regency, but for the Town of Ridgefield,” deVilliers adds.

HomeGoods, with a store less than ten miles from Ridgefield in neighboring Danbury, told us back in  2020, that they feel they are missing out on customers in the Ridgefield market as well as in communities to the south of Ridgefield.

According to Regency Centers website, the company owns 44 properties in Connecticut. deVilliers told us that several HomeGoods stores are part of their portfolio as well as Danbury Greens shopping center at 115 Mill Plain Road, home to Trader Joe's.
