Branchville Gets a Boost: Streetscape Improvement Plan

After years of planning, Ridgefield has finally received approval from the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) to move forward with a project that will improve pedestrian traffic in the Branchville section of town.

The project involves building a new sidewalk that will run from Tusk & Cup south to the Ridgefield-Wilton border with a footbridge over the Norwalk River portion, providing an uninterrupted path for pedestrians.

Updated pedestrian signs and crosswalks will be put in place at the intersection of Route 102 and 7, and the road will be narrowed to support the flow of safe walkway connectivity. New decorative lighting and landscaping will help to enhance the neighborhood’s appeal.

The $2.5 million dollar project, which is anticipated to start in mid-April, will be subsidized by a $2.3 million grant that the town received through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

"Branchville is finally receiving the upgrades deserved and this is just the beginning,” commented First Selectman Rudy Marconi.
