Larry Debany sells 850 Wood Fired Restaurant to childhood friends and culinary masters

850 Degrees Wood Fired is more than a restaurant, it’s a place where family and friends gather and it’s the afterglow of a beloved community event like the Town tree lighting or the Memorial Day Parade.

Built on solid ground by the one and only Larry Debany, 2023 marks a turning point for the popular family eatery. Debany has sold 850 Wood Fired Restaurant to childhood friends Laura and Mike Endico, owners of Ace Endico, and Culinary Institute of America trained Chef Beck Bolender.

Together, the trio are committed to continuing Larry’s legacy of greatness. “Mike and Larry have known each other since they were little kids. We want to carry on what he created; the family environment, and support for the community.”

Longtime 850 employee Eliza Wendel, who began working as a hostess in the restaurant in high school, assumes the role of Manager and the kitchen staff and waiters who benefited from Larry’s tutelage remain. Chef Beck says, “The chefs have been with Larry for over a decade and remain in the same positions.”

So, what’s different? Not a whole lot. “Larry knew what he was doing,” says Laura. The 850 menu loyal customers have come to know and love remains the same. “The weekly specials are new,” says Beck who adds, “So far, the feedback has been positive, everyone likes the menu additions.”

Patio diners will notice a few subtle changes including benches where customers can enjoy a cocktail while waiting for a table or listening to a local musician perform. And, Laura says she met some customers recently when she was sprucing up the outdoor dining area with fresh flowers.

Welcome Laura, Mike and Beck! We are thrilled that 850 Wood Fired Restaurant is in such trusted hands and that our friend Larry Debany gets to focus on his new frozen pizza venture knowing what he built will continue to grow and thrive.

Cheers to new beginnings!
