You're IT Allen J. Hershkowitz Ph.D!
Four questions with Allen Hershkowitz, founder of Allen J. Hershkowitz Ph.D. Environmental Scientist; Chairman & Founding Director at Sport and Sustainability International.
Why did you start your business?
I became an environmental scientist in the late 1970s and as ecological issues evolved from “The Right Thing to Do” into an essential 21st-century corporate management obligation I was increasingly sought out by businesses, government agencies, and investors to guide their approach to more ecologically intelligent policies and operations.
What is your best-selling product/service?
I am most often asked to help refine the environmental vision and aspiration of high net-worth investors and C-Suite Executives and help operationalize that agenda throughout an organization and its supply chain and other stakeholders.
I work with dozens of businesses nationally and internationally. Too many—or too private—to name... I do love my office in Ridgefield.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
My work for more than 40 years has consistently focused on sustainability and helping to alleviate human suffering. Although my business purpose has never changed, the issues I address and the tools and approaches I use have of course evolved as the environmental pressures we face have become more severe and the economy and government regulations evolve to respond to those pressures.
