Eversource is currently monitoring the potential for an impactful weather event on Thursday, July 27, 2023, with strong to severe thunderstorms expected from 12pm-9pm bringing potentially damaging wind gusts across the service territory that could impact service delivery.
We also continue to monitor the risk of high heat and demand on our system. Crews are ready to respond to any issues that could arise during periods of extreme heat and severe weather.

A disturbance moving through the region will support scattered thunderstorms during this afternoon and evening. Conditions will be favorable for instances of damaging winds, frequent lightning, and hail in the strongest activity. Isolated tornadoes will be possible from around NC into southwestern Maine. The risk for severe weather will diminish in the evening hours as instability decreases and the disturbance exits the area.
