
Ridgefield Police - retirement announcement
On Friday, September 15, 2023, Officer Luis Caba retired from the Ridgefield Police Department.
Officer Caba started his career with the Ridgefield Police Department on February 13 1997. He served in the Patrol division for 27 years.
During his time as a Police Officer, he had multiple roles. As SRO, Officer Caba was well respected by the students and staff. He built lasting relationships with the school community while creating a safe learning environment in our schools.
Officer Caba was also a well-known DARE Instructor, educating countless youths on Internet safety, how to stand up to bullying and the dangers of drug use and addiction.
Officer Caba had many specialized skills and received multiple recognitions during his career to include:
- Exceptional Service Award in 2000 & 2011
- Officer of the Year in 2009
- Unit Citation Award in 2016
- DARE Officer
- School Resource Officer
- Honor Guard Member
- Car Seat Technician
We would like to thank Officer Caba (badge #162) for his 27 years of dedicated service to the Ridgefield Police Department and to our community. We wish him well in his future endeavors. Congratulations Lou!
