Ridgefield Letter: Issy Keeps Us Safe

Issy Caporale, an incumbent Ridgefield Police Commissioner, deserves our support!  Issy, a lifelong Ridgefield resident, has a proven record of service to our community and our country.

A decorated veteran of the United States Coast Guard, having served proudly and selflessly for 25 years, Issy exemplifies a commitment to service.  After her military service, Issy joined the Ridgefield Police Department, where she supported our officers and our community for 11 years.  In 2019, Issy was overwhelmingly elected by our community to serve on the Board of Police Commissioners.  During her tenure, Ridgefield was ranked the Safest City in America, according to FBI and US Census data released in January 2023.

In her four years on the Commission, Issy was instrumental in applying her deep knowledge of the RPD to support and provide invaluable insight to the Commission. From successfully vetting, interviewing and hiring 10 new police officers, to acquiring fiscally-responsible and much-needed safety equipment and body cameras for all town police officers, Issy has demonstrated her commitment to the men and women who proudly serve this town and to her fellow Ridgefielders.

As Secretary of the BOPC, Issy interacts with the public regularly, displaying her core as a compassionate problem-solver.  Issy’s goal is to continue to keep Ridgefield safe, and to continue to provide exemplary mentorship and leadership to our officers, town officials and neighbors alike.   Issy firmly believes in accountability and transparency, with an emphasis on sensitivity to our needs, which she implements by setting examples through her integrity, empathy and drive.

Issy’s lifelong commitment to service has made all of us safer.  Her perspective as a life-long resident informs her devotion to forward-looking policies that protect the unique character of Ridgefield.   Let’s continue to keep Ridgefield safe with a vote for Issy!
