Congressman Jim Himes to Speak at Pie and Politics, a Family-friendly Event on Sunday, October 1 at 2-4 PM

Ridgefield, CT -- Congressman Jim Himes, Ridgefield’s US Representative and the Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Foreign Intelligence as well as the House Financial Services Committee, will be in Ridgefield Sunday, October 1 along with CT LT. Governor Susan Bysiewicz and CT Attorney William Tong at the home of Bob and Betsy Thompson.

Held in a fabulous garden setting, Pie and Politics features not only Congressman Himes but also the entire Democratic ticket for municipal office running on Row A with First Selectman Rudy Marconi in November. Those who attend can meet the Congressman, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General, as well as First Selectman Rudy Marconi and hear more about the upcoming races. Focus will be on the Board of Education and the Police Commission.

The contested Board of Education race features Democrat Jon Paradiso, a father of Ridgefield School children and a finance executive, as well as Democrat Wyatt Lipman, a lawyer at Google and dad to a toddler, with another on the way. On the Police Commission, incumbents Issy Caporale and Ralph Money will speak to their work and accomplishments on behalf of the town and public safety.

The bucolic setting, along with spectacular homemade pies and beverages and an environment where kids are welcome, is an annual “must attend” Ridgefield event prior to voting. Adult admission is $40 and kids are free. Valet parking is provided as are food and beverages.
