Ridgefield's Final Farmers Market on Saturday: Stock Up for the Cozy Season!

Ridgefield Farmers Market put its down roots on the Jesse Lee Church Commons in mid-July and what an awesome season it's been! This Saturday, October 22 is the Market’s 2023 grand finale and grand it will be with pumpkin decorating, live music, and the best makers, bakers, and farmers!

We want to thank Corrin Arasa for her vision and hard work putting the wheels in motion to bring the Farmers Market back to Ridgefield! Much appreciation for the Ridgefield Farmers Market Founding Sponsors, Fairfield County Bank and Karla Murtaugh.

Here are Corrin’s Market Picks to stock up for the cozy season.

“It’s the last market!!!  I’ll be taking home an extra big market haul this week!” she says.

Badass Bagels, grab an extra dozen for the freezer and don’t forget the extra cream cheese!  Pinemto Scalion is my current go to.  You can pre-order your bagels: https://www.badassbagels.com/shopbagels

My freezer will also be filled with Apple Cider popsicles from Bees Knees to keep on hand for play dates. And, salmon and branzino from Ideal Fish.

Fall veggies are at their peak and are going to be abundant this market. Personally, I’ll be piling on the squash, garlic, onions and kale. And, don’t forget to bring your knives to get sharpened to make your soup chopping a breeze.

Henny Penny Farm sausage is on my list as is the bacon-  nothing beats a nice fall breakfast with local farm bacon and eggs.

As for baked goods, pumpkin and carrot muffins from Farmers and Cooks are perfection. The apple cider donuts from Cloudy Lane Bakery are super moist and yummy, and the cinnamon rolls from Sweet Brioche are on my list once again- they sold out before I got to them last time.

Herbal Deva is back and I’ll be getting some more Elderberry syrup to keep healthy through cold season and I’ll be snapping up some of her Krisha Tea blend to enjoy a hot tea at home on WFM afternoons.

We’ll also have some sweet live tunes and pumpkin decorating... it’s going to be festive and fun, whether it rains or shines!

Don’t miss out on the last week and say goodbye to your favorite farmers, makers, and bakers and celebrate a fantastic first season!
