Letter: Re-elect Police Commissioner Ralph Money, a fellow volunteer firefighter

Please join me in re-electing Ralph Money to the Board of Police Commissioners. Ralph is a Harvard-educated financial professional who serves as an EMT and Ridgefield volunteer firefighter. This has benefitted the Board of Police Commissioners with its two main charges: talent and fiscal management. As a police commissioner, Ralph interviews and hires new police officers. As a first responder, Ralph is uniquely equipped to determine which candidates have what it takes to serve in the line of duty. Last month alone, I responded to a dozen fire calls with Ralph, and can attest to Ralph’s leadership and composure—the same qualities he looks for in new recruits. In the field, in life-or-death situations, Ralph is the real deal.

Second, Ralph’s financial background dovetails perfectly with the fiscal responsibilities of the Commission. Ralph holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and he has served in a number of senior investment roles, and as an executive with the American Red Cross. His experience has translated into successfully adding two new police officers while still proposing responsible police budgets. He is the only Commission member with this critical experience.

I trust Ralph to keep my family and other Ridgefield families safe. Please join me in voting for Ralph Money on Tuesday, November 7th.
