If you drive or walk down East Ridge Road, you may have noticed the attractive granite monument that has been erected in front of the police station.
The Memorial to Veterans of Modern Wars is the brainchild of a Ridgefield Scout Caden, whose idea it was to raise funds and create and erect a monument to honor those who served in wars and conflicts since Vietnam. This patriotic tribute to our local American heroes serves as Caden’s Eagle Scout project.
It reads:
Lest we forget
In honor of Ridgefielders past and present, and their sacrifices in serving:
- Persian Gulf War
- War in Iraq
- Afghanistan War
Veterans War Memorial Dedication Ceremony is planned for this Saturday, November 18 at 3:00PM.
