Many Ridgefield residents are in need, please consider a donation to Social Services Emergency Fund

The Social Services emergency fund which operates our Food Pantry is in desperate need of donations so they can continue helping Ridgefield residents in need.

Ridgefield Director of Social Services Tony Phillips says that community requests for support have steadily increased while donations have not. In addition, food costs have escalated. “So between increased costs and more requests for help, we continue to need more and more donations.”

Please consider supporting our neighbors in need. This is especially important as we enter the holiday season and the colder months.

Phillips explains, “We have residents who are behind on their rent or being evicted, people who need oil deliveries or can't afford their electric bills, people with cars that are in disrepair, and people who need help with medicine, and, and, and ..... this all comes out of the same Emergency Fund.”

While this is the preferred method of donating, you can also bring checks to Town Hall made to Town of Ridgefield, Emergency Fund in the memo. 

Social Services also accepts grocery store gift cards (Stop & Shop or Caraluzzi’s) in any denomination as well. Feel free to bring those gift cards to Town Hall or mail to Town Hall, 400 Main Street.
