Nobody embodies that idea more than the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, which has held the torch of New Orleans music aloft for more than 50 years. Their recent releases redefine modern New Orleans music by tapping into sonic elements that stretch back to the city’s Afro-Cuban roots and reach forward to cutting-edge artists like Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, and Arcade Fire. Don’t miss this septet’s return to the Playhouse stage with their Creole Christmas concert series.
