St. Stephen's Church Blue Christmas Service on Sunday

Candlelight Blue Christmas Service Sunday, December 3 at 4:00 pm

St. Stephen’s Church located at 353 Main Street, Ridgefield - invites you to share in a quiet, contemplative candlelight service of prayers, Scripture and music. This is an opportunity to be in God’s presence for those of us who mourn, or who simply feel a need to await the coming of the Christ Child in contemplation and solemnity.  There are countless reasons why one may feel unable to join in the mood of celebration.  We feel “blue” and isolated, alone in our sadness. It is in such difficult times as these that we need to acknowledge and honor our feelings, our broken hearts; the emptiness within. In these longest, darkest days of winter, God’s Word comes to shine in our darkness. Please join us in this service of quiet reflection, remembrance, comfort and hope.

Following the service, we offer three options for participation. If you’d like to quietly go home, we understand and support your needs. If you find you’d like to talk to someone about your grief or stress, there will be St. Stephens' facilitators remaining in the sanctuary to hear your story. Lastly, if you would like to join participants in Rectors Hall for social community, there will be a reception following the service.
