Ridgefield Holiday House Tour and RSO's Music at the Mansion, proudly sponsored by Karla Murtaugh of Compass Realty

It's a busy time of year in Ridgefield and I'm looking forward to once again celebrating the holidays in our beautiful town! With so many fun and festive events, there's truly something for everyone in the next month or so. I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize two of the exciting nonprofit events I'm proud to sponsor in our outstanding arts community this holiday season.

Tiger Hollow Inc.'s always anticipated Ridgefield Holiday House Tour is set for this weekend! An amazing way to kick off the holiday season by touring Ridgefield homes and enjoying the company of friends and community members.

Sponsored by Karla Murtaugh of Compass Realty and chaired by Jill Rae of Jill Rae Designs, this year’s house tour is posed to bring cheer and merriment to the holiday season. The Holiday House Tour will showcase five to seven stunning homes in Ridgefield artfully decorated for the holiday season.

As a beloved and longtime community tradition, the Holiday House Tour is the main fundraiser for Tiger Hollow Inc, with all money raised going towards ongoing maintenance and capital improvements. Back after a four-year hiatus, Tiger Hollow and the Ridgefield Historical Society are joining forces to present a walkable Saturday tour of historic homes that will be preceded by a Friday evening gala preview party.

All the seasonal beauty of Ridgefield will be the backdrop for the Holiday Historic House Tour and Preview Party on Dec. 1 and 2. Coinciding with the Ridgefield Holiday Stroll, the Preview Party and Historic House Tour will be a time for celebrating with friends and toasting the return of a traditional part of the holiday season.

Then, next weekend on Sunday, December 10th, I'm proud to sponsor Music at the Mansion, an exciting arts and cultural collaboration between Lounsbury House and the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra with the intent of offering chamber music of the highest artistic quality accessibly, while sharing the history and beauty of one of Ridgefield’s most treasured landmarks.

This lovely evening will feature Cassatt String Quartet with Muneko Otani & Jennifer Leshnower, violinists Rannveig Marta Sarc, guest violist & Gwen Krosnick, cellist. Hailed for its “mighty rapport and relentless commitment” (Jay Harvey Upstage, 2021), the Cassatt String Quartet has performed across the world to critical acclaim since its founding in 1985, with appearances at Alice Tully Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Tanglewood Music Center, the Kennedy Center, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Centro National de las Artes, Maeda Hall, and Beijing’s Central Conservatory. The Cassatts have performed on the matched quartet of Stradivarius instruments at the Library of Congress; and, as resident quartet at the University of Buffalo, three complete Slee Beethoven String Quartet cycles.
