Ridgefield Police Officer Daniel Gjodesen Retires from Department After 25 Years of Dedicated Service

Today, November 30, 2023 Officer Daniel Gjodesen is retiring from the Ridgefield Police Department. He served in the Patrol division for 25 years.
 
Officer Gjodesen began his career with the Ridgefield Police Department on June 23, 1999. Prior to joining our department, Officer Gjodesen was a Patrol Officer with the Baltimore City Police Department from 1996-1999. During his tenure with our department, Officer Gjodesen was an exceptional Field Training Officer responsible for training many of our officers. Officer Gjodesen was active with the Eagle 2 Regional Helicopter, in which he volunteered countless hours to the unit. Officer Gjodesen received many recognitions during his career to include:
 
- Exceptional Service Award in 2019
- Two-time Officer of the Year in 2005 & 2013
- Two-time Unit Citation in 2016 & 2023
- Four Commendation Letters for extraordinary service
 
In addition to these awards, Officer Gjodesen has received multiple letters of recognition from the public for his dedicated service and community efforts. We would like to thank Officer Gjodesen (badge #168) for his 25 years of devoted service to the Ridgefield Police Department and our community. We wish him well in his future endeavors.
