Ridgefield Police Missing Person Update: Individual Found Deceased, Incident Not Deemed Suspicious

Ridgefield Police report that on Sunday, December 3 at approximately 4:45 pm, the Department received a call of a missing person. 

The individual, 57-year-old Jack Gordon was last seen leaving his residence to walk in the Bennetts Farm State Park trails.

In a press release, Ridgefield Police said that their Department, along with Ridgefield Professional Fire Department, Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department, Danbury Police, Danbury Fire Department, Brookfield Police, Bethel Fire Department, Greenwich Fire Department, Eagle 2, and the DEEP, searched for Mr Gordan with the use of several K-9s drones, and air support. 

"After about eighteen hours of actively searching the area, Mr. Gordon was located deceased. The incident was not deemed suspicious and there is no danger to the public," Ridgefield Police Captain Jeff Raines said.

"We want to thank all of the departments who assisted with the search," said Raines.

The incident will remain under investigation by the DEEP and the States Medical Examiner's Office.
