  • On THURSDAY, MARCH 29th - 6:00 to 6:30 pm Tune into Ridgefield Now We're Talking. The Elementary School Garden Panel will be featured on the show,  Ridgefield Access Channel 26 Join our very own Elementary School Garden representatives - Avery Costigan, on behalf of GVI, Madyn Byrnes - Scotland, Cathy Charles - Veteran's Park, Tracy Inall - Branchville, Emily Mills - Barlow Mountain, Kristyn Prial - Ridgebury, and Delphine Robbe - Farmingville, as they discuss how the school gardens came to be, their use and integration into the school culture.

 

  • THURSDAY, MARCH 29th - 7:00 pm "Dirt, The Movie" at The Weston Public Library The film, www.DIRTTheMovie.org, is narrated by Jamie Lee Curtis and brings to life the environmental, economic, social and political aspect of soil.   Sponsored by the Friends of the Weston Library and the Weston Sustainability Committee.  Admission is free.  For more information, click here: www.sustainableweston.org

 

  • SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, MARCH 31st and APRIL 1 Ridgefield Rid Litter Day Pick a neighborhood and start collecting garbage!  Put garbage in dark plastic bags and recyclables in clear plastic bags.  Bring bags to collection points at:  Branchville School, Farmingville School, East Ridge Middle School, Ridgefield High School and Fox Lake pick up area.  Sponsored by Parks & Recreation, Highway and Public Works, Board of Selectman, Conservation Commission, and the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce.
