Connecticut Press Club is actively seeking a new president to lead organization

The Connecticut Press Club is actively seeking a new president to lead the organization, which serves as a vital resource for communications professionals throughout the state. Current president Michele Turk, who has served in the role since late 2015, announced her plans to step down once a suitable successor is found.

Turk emphasized that the role of president, while significant, is not overwhelming and comes with a stipend to support the new leader’s efforts. The position is open to all interested individuals, including those who are not current members of the club. Turk encourages anyone interested to reach out to her directly via email or phone.

“For nearly a decade, I’ve had the pleasure of leading this vibrant organization, with invaluable support from volunteers like VP Lynn Prowitt, publicity director Aline Weiller, and contest director Tom Renner. Together, we’ve grown the club significantly, and we’re committed to ensuring its continued success,” Turk said.

The Connecticut Press Club offers opportunities for networking, professional development, and recognition through its annual awards competition. Under Turk’s leadership, the club has become a thriving community for writers, journalists, editors, bloggers, and other communication professionals.

The club’s leadership is confident that with additional involvement from members and fresh energy from a new president, the organization will continue to be a robust platform for Connecticut’s communications community.

For more information about the role or to suggest a candidate, please contact Michele Turk at CTPressClub@gmail.com or call 203-622-2968.
