Tonight, Tuesday, November 12, the Connecticut Yankee Council will recognize three community leaders from Ridgefield and Danbury for their dedication to improving their communities. The Greater Danbury Good Scout Award Celebration will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury, where honorees will be awarded the prestigious Good Scout Award. This annual event celebrates individuals who embody the core values of Scouting: community service, leadership, and commitment to the public good.
This year’s honorees include Lori Berisford, President & Board Chair of Sphere of CT, Shannon Cobb, President & CEO of Ann’s Place, Inc., and Rudy Marconi, Ridgefield’s First Selectperson. Their work and leadership exemplify the spirit of the Good Scout Award, which acknowledges local leaders who have made meaningful, lasting contributions to their communities.
The Connecticut Yankee Council, the local chapter of Scouting America serving Fairfield, New Haven, and parts of Hartford counties, organizes this celebration to highlight the achievements of individuals who inspire others through their selfless work. Serving more than 7,000 Scouts, the Connecticut Yankee Council relies on thousands of volunteer leaders who support and uphold Scouting's values and mission.
