CSGA interview: 15 Minutes with Ridgefield golfer Arabella Lopez

Ridgefield’s own Arabella Lopez continues to make waves in the world of golf! The talented Golf Performance Center athlete recently sat down for an interview with Sam Dostaler, Director of Communications and Corporate Partnerships at the Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA), as part of its 15 Minutes With series. At just 15 years old, Arabella has already built an impressive resume, securing major wins and breaking records along the way.

In the interview, CSGA talks about Arabella’s accomplishments including victories at the 2024 Puerto Rico Women’s Amateur and the International Junior Masters. Most recently, she became the youngest winner of the Caribbean Women’s Amateur, adding yet another title to her growing list of achievements. Her dedication and skill have made her a standout in Connecticut golf, with third-place finishes at both the Connecticut Women’s Amateur and the Connecticut Girls’ Junior this year.

A dedicated Golf Performance Center athlete, Arabella shared in her interview with Dostaler that her golf journey began when she was just four years old, swinging plastic clubs in her backyard. By age seven, she had already set her sights on a professional career, but it wasn’t until she played in the New England Invitational at 13—shooting in the 60s and defeating the expected winner—that she realized her dream was within reach.

Arabella’s determination, work ethic, and love for the game continue to fuel her success, and Ridgefield couldn’t be prouder. Watch the full interview on YouTube: CSGA 15 Minutes With Arabella Lopez.
