The annual Ridgefield High School awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 4. This year's recipient of the distinguished Student of the Year (SOY) Award is Elizabeth (aka Betsy) Vanni. Congratulations, Betsy!!! The SOY Award concept was created years ago by the National Exchange Club for communities across the nation as part of its initiative for supporting students and education. The recipient is selected by the RHS based on a long list of criteria and Elizabeth is an outstanding student, athlete (e.g., track & field) and community supporter. The scholarship check award is provided by the Exchange Club of Ridgefield as one of its many community services.
