Ridgefield’s own Bryan Perri—A.C.T. of CT’s Resident Music Supervisor—made his Carnegie Hall debut last night in a performance that was deep, majestic, thought-provoking, and awe-inspiring.
The Ridgefield community turned out in full force, filling the historic venue to honor a man whose extraordinary musical gift has moved them, inspired them, and become a part of their lives
Ira Joe Fisher captured the sentiment best: “A great evening. Magic. Majestic. Music to journey through our ear directly to our heart. And a joy to be with dear Ridgefielders moved by Bryan Perri.”
The evening marked the live concert performance of Perri’s debut album, Few Words. Conducting a 13-piece orchestra and an ensemble of Broadway vocalists, including special guest Aaron Tveit, Perri offered a genre-blending experience that defied expectation—ambient, classical, and electronic elements woven together in a soundscape rich with passion, pathos, contemplation, humor, and joy. The performance also included the premiere of Unorthodox Fairytale, a new work from the composer.
The finale, “Galileo,” holds special meaning for Perri. Written by Emily Saliers and recorded by the Indigo Girls, it closed the evening with emotional resonance and personal significance.
The drive back to Ridgefield didn’t feel like a return from a concert—it felt like a benediction. Because from now on, when we think of Carnegie Hall, we’ll hear the music of Bryan Perri—a composer of national acclaim, and a friend we are proud to call our own.
