From the grounds of Lounsbury House here is P-06877-etry "Lean and Listen"

Welcome to another "P-06877-etry” feature where Ridgefield’s second Poet Laureate, Ira Joe Fisher, shares his poetic prowess with HamletHub readers! This renowned media personality—broadcaster, actor, educator, and Emmy-winning writer—brings a local twist to his poetry, reflecting his deep love for our community.

Lean and Listen

Connecticut trees are towned

in pillared sanctuary.

On their limbs the vestments

of summer – an invitation

to come into their dark.

Then sit and lean and listen

to these – the trees of Connecticut

all towned and bound

by stones walled with moss and grey.
